Homeshow 365 Featured in DM Register

The former CompUSA space, next to Kohl's, will soon be the site of a new concept in marketing services and products for the home.

The space will be filled with sample products and displays from vendors around central Iowa, much like a year-round home and garden show.

Dennis Tingwald, who represents a group of five local investors, said the inspiration for the business came from similar shops in New Zealand and Australia. Tingwald said HomeShow 365 will run background checks on its vendors and limit those with similar products.

HomeShow 365 will be free for customers, who receive a clipboard when they come in and can browse the displays, which will be unstaffed. If they find something they are interested in, they check off a box on the clipboard list and present it to an employee of HomeShow 365 to obtain a quote or follow up from a vendor or vendors.

Tingwald said the concept allows customers to browse at their leisure and see the products and craftsmanship of various companies. As its name indicates, it will be open almost every day of the year.
